Lawn mower service ( for Honda only)

$95 per hour

We stock most blades, air filters, spark plugs and cables for the different models. Orders are placed for the parts we don’t have twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays. Our labour rate is a low $95 per hour.There are certain “Honda Powered” mowers out there like for example some models that were sold at Sears.We can do the servicing on the engine however we do not have access to the parts for the rest of the mower like the deck,cables,controls,blades & wheels.If its a full genuine Honda model ,we have or can get most of those parts.Please make sure you have or know your model number….eg…HRA214PXC,HRB215HXC etc…..its usually located on the upper deck top just before the bag or discharge chute.There were many,many different models available from Honda since the 70’s.Some people bring in the engine number…..while that helps a little we really need the model of the mower.

The most common neglected service item is valve clearance check and adjustment.This is required at every 300 hours….unlike cars/trucks these engines do not have hydraulic valve lifters.They are mechanically adjusted.If not adjusted as part of regular scheduled maintenance..(like changing the oil)…there is a risk of burning a valve.

Rototiller service (for Honda only)

from a regular seasonal tune consisting of a valve clearance adjustment, oil change, spark plug change, air filter clean or replacement ….lower tine case seal replacement and tine repacement……up to an engine rebuild.

There were many,many different models available from Honda since the 70’s.Some people bring in the engine number…..while that helps a little we really need the model of the tiller.

back in the early 90’s we actually sold more of these models…the F501C than lawn mowers strictly through word of mouth….they just worked so much better that other brand front tine makes.These are classified as mid tine with the engine weight right over the tines making it alot more smoother to operate than front tine models.The front wheel is used only for moving the tiller around and is flipped up when actually tilling.Rental stores would buy then but that was more because they were reliable and more trouble free than other makes.Sometimes the rental stores would forget to inform their customers to flip the front wheel up in the air which would then render them ineffective at doing the work.Very reliable machines over a long time…a common neglected maintenance item is the valve clearance ajustment.If left too long can result in a burnt valve.

Generator service

often generators can sit for quite awhile untill an emergency …as a result the fuel going bad is the most common problem leading to carbs having to be disassembled for a thorough cleaning or parts replacement.Good idea to run your generator once in awhile and use fuel stabilizer.If its sat for more than a year best is to dump the old fuel (it will really smell bad) and put fresh premium gas in it.A common neglected maintenance item is the valve clearance adjustment which if left too long can result in a burnt engine valve.

Trimmer service

the earliest Honda models had 2-stroke engines but after 2-3 years they switched to an all new 4 stoke engine design which run cleaner and don’t require any oil/gas mixing.These engines were unique in the world in that they were designed to run up side down to handle the different angles trimmers usually have to run at.This is accomplished by using a fan which mists up the oil and a reed check valve system to insure of proper oiling. WIth every other power product engine 10/40 is used but the trimmers are unique in that strictly 10/30 is to be used.Any thicker oil and the engine will run slower as well if too much oil is put in it will do the same thing.Because there is not much oil in the engine it is very important to check and change the oil frequently as they only hold 100 Milliliters ( or 1/10th of a litre) of 10/30 oil.

An additional benifit of the 4 stroke design is that type of engine makes more low end torque ( power ) resulting in less revs needed than a 2 stroke design.However the engine weighs slightly more than a 2-stroke so a shoulder harness should be used.

A few other brands buy the engines from Honda and use their own shafts,controls & heads but please keep this in mind when ordering parts as the genuine Honda trimmer parts will not work on other brands.

Snow blower service

Honda blowers are substantially different from most other brands of blowers.We have over 35 years of experience servicing the different Honda models

We stock parts such as rubber paddles, spark plugs and cables for the different models. Orders are placed for the parts we don’t have twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays. Our labour rate is a low $95 per hour.There are certain “Honda Powered” blowers out there that use a Honda general purpose engine,however the rest of the blower is of a different brand of manufacturer.We can do the servicing on the engine however we do not have access to the parts for the rest of the blower If its a full genuine Honda model ,we have or can get most of those parts.Please make sure you have or know your model number….eg…HS520,HS928,etc……There were many,many different models available from Honda since the 70’s.Some people bring in the engine number…..while that helps a little we really need the model of the blower.

Pumps

be aware that there are other makes of pumps out there using Honda engines but the rest of the pump may not be made by Honda….so called “Honda powered pumps”…..the genuine Honda pump has higher quality impellers,seals and O rings that withstand chemicals that can quickly eat through non Honda impellers and destroy the seals.We only carry parts for the genuine Honda pumps and not these other makes.If your non Honda pump has engine service needs we can look after the engine part if it has the Honda engine.
